Realism, naturalism and local color

A realist believes to tell stories with honesty and integrity and to be true to ones self, whether this is reflceted in the characters of the stories or the narrative. Twains story, "TCJFoCC" is a true interpreation of this, Smiley is a character who is told about from our first hand story teller. Although the author of the publication is interviewing another about this man he is getting first hand information, while all at once allowing us to recognize the information he is recieving about Smiley may be falsified or greatly exaggerated. The Same for realism is also true in the White Heron, because the little girl sylivia stays true to her self throughout the entire story not weening off or selling out to give away the location of the Heron, attributed to a moral sensibility she obtains in the pine.

We also see naturalism occur throughout the story.
